The Australian Coptic Movement Association is greatly concerned over the ongoing threats of violence against Coptic Christians.
We have become aware that a convent in northern Egypt was protected by local Muslim residents from attack by Pro Morsi supporters, however have now asked for our prayers as they face threats of attack this Friday 30 August 2013 by Muslim Brotherhood supporters.
Places of residence of priests and deaconesses, have been marked with an X all over Egypt as the Islamists threaten further violence against Copts.
These attacks against the vulnerable and peaceful nuns, deaconesses and members of the clergy is totally unacceptable.
The Egyptian Government led by Supreme Judge Adly Mansour must afford protection to Egypt’s Christians in light of the ongoing attacks that we are witnessing.
