The first of two days of voting in Egypt’s presidential election ended peacefully without any major incident despite minor skirmishes reported in Minya’s Delga district between security forces and Morsi supporters.

The First of two days of voting in Egypt’s presidential election has ended. Voters choose between former military chief Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and leftist Hamdeen Sabahi. The day passed peacefully without any major incident despite minor skirmishes reported in Minya’s Delga district between security forces and Morsi supporters.

Update on Egyptian Expat Voting: Preliminary indications for the vote of Egyptian expatriates in the presidential elections showed that more than 230,000 Egyptians have voted. This is easily more than double the results of the earlier Expat referendum vote.
