Mobs Free to Attack Coptic Christians with Impunity

The Australian Coptic Movement Association (ACM) condemns the recent the spate of attacks targeting Coptic citizens in Southern Egypt.
Over the past two weeks, Coptic Christians have been attacked in the following locations in three different provinces:

1-Demshau Hashem – Al Minya Province
2-Sultan – Al Minya Province
3-Isna – Luxor Province
4-Bani Sweif

The attacks against the Coptic minority in the above locations usually involve mobs of angry extremists who attack, threaten, insult and destroy Coptic owned
property. The attackers are usually set free following state sponsored ‘reconciliation sessions’. In some cases, Coptic
villagers are then evicted from their homes and land.
