We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Mahfouz Maximus as a spokesperson for The Australian Coptic Movement Association (ACM).

Born and raised in Upper Egypt, Maximos has been living in Australia for 10 years and is considered a community leader among Egyptian migrants who have settled in Australia in recent years. This segment of Australia’s Coptic Community has not been appropriately represented, socially and politically.

Maximus is a contributor to three Arabic news outlets. With a background in Accounting and Law, Maximos also holds a degree in Psychology (Honours and Masters) and is currently completing a PhD in Philosophy of Psychology.

Maximus has lived under the darkness of ethnic-religious persecution in Egypt and is frustrated over the ongoing attacks and discrimination against Copts in Egypt.

“ACM has achieved great milestones in recent years despite many challenges. I am humbled to be appointed to the group and hope to build on a history that has delivered great outcomes for our community during a difficult and hostile environment. I hope to be able to build on previous efforts by amplifying our reach into Egyptian media to achieve our objective of Justice,” Maximus said.
